A warm welcome to Kilsyth Lennox Golf Club.
My name is Maggie Nutley and I joined the club when I took up golf seriously in 2002, after playing on a casual basis, for a number of years. I wish I had started when I was younger..but don’t we all! I was made really welcome by the ladies, who helped me learn the rules and etiquette of golf while having the enjoyment of a walk and a chat in beautiful surroundings, exercising without realising it and my golf improving with time! The course has fantastic views On a clear day you can see Tinto to the South and Arran to the West. The clubhouse is a lovely place to relax after a game.
I hoped this would be a year to remember, and 2020 is cetainly a year we will never forget! Getting back on the golf course has been wonderful for all our mental health, playing in a safe environment and socially distancing with ease.
We are a small but friendly group and I am honoured to be Lady Captain and represent the ladies this year. Any ladies thinking of joining should get in touch for a chat, have a look around at the facilities and try out the course with free round of golf. You would be made very welcome.
Why take up golf? There are many reasons that it might be the best thing you ever did.
A long walk on a regular basis will keep you fit. You’ll make new friends … and you might even be good at the game! A few hours of calm in a busy life are great for your mental health.
For those who love nature, you can observe the changing seasons up close. On a quiet day you might see the heron in the pond at the 6th or a group of deer crossing the course.
