A warm welcome to Kilsyth Lennox Golf Club from Stephen Kelly (aka the panther) Club Captain 2019
I consider it a huge honour and privilege as Captain, to welcome all current and new members to Kilsyth Lennox Golf Club in 2019. I would also like to thank the committee members for accepting my nomination to be captain this year, can I also thank my friend and out-going Captain Alan Brown for a great last year, it’s been an honour working with him.
To all members, we have a web site that you can visit regarding social media platforms which gives you an insight of what Kilsyth Lennox Golf Club is all about. Please pay a visit in person as it’s the best way to experience all the facilities available. We also have a Facebook page.
2018 was once again a successful year for our club teams especially the McIntyre team and Captain Eric O’Neil, his team won the final at Kirkintilloch Golf Club. We also had a fantastic club championship final between two Great Golfers Bill Erskine and Gary Motherwell with the victory going to our new club champion Gary Motherwell well done to him.
We also had a great turn out once again at the Bankier Memorial trophy team event, congratulations go out to the A team who picked up the cup again. I would also like to say well done to match & handicap team David, Ryan, and Stephen for a great job and I’m looking forward to working with them this year.
Social side of thing was hard, but I was up for the challenge. We had two great acts in Neil Diamond & Rhapsody which people enjoyed, hopefully the next Social convenor will be more successful. I’m looking forward to working with them
A final note goes out to all my fellow members. I hope 2019 will be another great year for you all, as captain of the club, with help from my vice-captain David Stewart we will try and make 2019 a year to remember. I would like to say thanks to David on being my vice-captain for 2019.
My charity this year Is Children’s Hospices Across Scotland? But most people know them as CHAS. For over twenty years they have been offering a full family support service for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions. This includes palliative care, family respite and support – through their hospices, homecare services and hospital presence. I will be putting posters up about this charity and some charity cans at the bar. So, I’m looking for as much help as possible to try and raise some money for this great cause thank you.
Captains Day will have a new format which will be a 4 ball Texas’s scramble, and a Captains Trophy. Yes! they will be a theme so hopefully I will get support and help on the day and hopefully on Captains night presentation.
BIG THANKS GO OUT TO THESE GUY
Brian Hill and his team for giving us a great course
